Who Am I?

  • Hi, I'm Ilaria, I work in publishing as a freelance translator (EN/FR > IT), proofreader and sub-editor. My areas of expertise: medicine, alternative and complementary medicine, parenting, psychology, self-help, recipes, narrative and children’s fiction. I also read and evaluate untranslated works in English and French, mainly contemporary narrative but also (and happily!) biographical works.
  •  I have a keen interest in 19th-century British society and social history, Anglo-Indian female authors and women’s biographies. I like writing short stories/flash fiction for the Web, as well as blogging about translation, language, books, food and ephemera. I enjoy online and face-to-face discussions on literary and translation subjects.
  • Last but not least, I try to keep alive my interest in academic research (which is sometimes quite of a challenge!)
